Understand
When we heard Leicester City Council were to bid for City of Culture 2017, and being passionate about our city we had to get involved. This bid would happen on our doorstep, and we wanted to get behind it. We therefore wanted to provide a promotional video which showcased what Leicester stands for. In this, we understood that our work should offer a large amount of footage to depict every corner of our city. In addition, our video would be debuted during the national award event; Leicester were on the national stage, and so were we.
Think
There was only so much we could include in our three-minute presentation. There is a lot of culture to shout about: King Richard III, Leicester City F.C., Leicester Tigers, The Golden Mile, Kasabian, our Universities, the list goes on. We were determined to pack the promo video full of juicy cultural content, yet consciously balancing this with a variety of filming techniques.
Deliver
Of course, most people within our community were only too happy to get on-board with the campaign. Over a twelve-month period, Nifty’s Events Team attended every cultural, musical and sporting event possible. Armed with their cameras and notepads, ready to capture the essence of our city.
We created a timeless video by deploying a variety of skills and techniques. These included, motion graphics, videography, branding, animation, events management, sound and creative direction.
